Kirk Wins 100th Match, Claims Title At Cushing

Guthrie High’s wrestling team jumped right into the fire last week after the holiday break. The Bluejays lost to No. 10 Duncan 39-30 and to No. 1 El Reno 51-21 in dual meets before traveling down the road and finishing eighth in the Cushing Tiger Invitational.

Lady Bluejays win Noble Tournament

Guthrie High’s Lady Bluejays basketball team started off 2023 in a celebratory fashion, winning the Noble Tournament this past weekend by claiming three victories in three days.

Bluejays beat Yukon to finish third at Weatherford

Guthrie High’s boys basketball team posted a 2-1 record to claim third place in the Weatherford Tournament. The Bluejays (4-5) now have a trip to No. 4 El Reno (9-1) on Friday night. Guthrie opened the tournament by beating Elgin 57-45.

2022 Year in Review Sports

The Cashion Wildcats are Champions of the Three Rivers Conference Tournament for the fourth year in a row. The Wildcats disposed of Thomas Fay-Custer (65-35), Okarche (50-47) and then Watonga in the championship game 51-24 to claim the title.

BLUEJAYS SEASON ENDS IN LOSS TO GROVE

Guthrie High’s Bluejays saw their season come to an end Friday night, losing to the No. 2 Grove Ridgerunners 27-19 in the second round of the Class 5A state football playoffs. The Bluejays (9-3) fell behind at halftime 7-0, allowing a 42-yard pass play five minutes before the break.

Tigers edge Mooreland; unbeaten Gore up next

Mooreland High’s football team may have controlled the clock and compiled more yardage Friday night, but it’s the Crescent Tigers who are moving on to the third round of the Class A state playoffs after rallying for a 19-18 victory in Crescent.
The Logan County 4H Teens took on the Community Service Project to run a food drive for the Hands of Jesus Food Bank. 4H Teens and a few other 4H members dropped off the collected donations. Mulhall-Orlando FFA Goes to Indianapolis

On Wednesday morning, October 26th, five out of six Mulhall-Orlando FFA chapter officers began the long journey to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 95th National FFA Convention and Expo. The National FFA Convention and Expo is a fourday event that takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana every October.
The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Nicole Lum. She is the daughter of Jason & Mindy Lum and the granddaughter of Holly and Sam Rice. Nicole is active in Performance Drama, Cheerleading and National Honor Society. After graduation, Nicole would like to be a cheerleader in college and study Nursing. Pictured with Nicole is Rotarian, Katelyn Payne with the YMCA.
