The final weekend of invitational tournaments for the high school basketball season had the Guthrie Bluejays finishing in third place at the Buckle of the Wheat Tournament in Kingfisher. The Coyle Bluejackets finished in third place at their own tournament in Coyle.
Both tournaments had solid crowds as all the teams in the county area would play three games in three days. Most tournament action started each morning at 9 a.m. and concluded around 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Kingfisher won both titles at their tournament and Okarche won both titles at the Coyle Tournament.
The season is winding down and Homecoming events are scheduled at Guthrie, Crescent, and Coyle Friday night. The Class A and B district pairings are due out this Friday, which affects Mulhall-Orlando and Coyle. The Class 2A-6A brackets will not be out for several more weeks.
The State Tournaments are all at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Arena again this season.
