Lady Bluejays Sixth at Class 5A State Track

Guthrie High School’s girls track, and field team placed sixth (with 47 points) at the Class 5A State Championships in Yukon last weekend, while the boys finished 19th (with 13 points). Junior Kamryn Boller led the Lady Bluejays by placing fourth in the 3,200 meters (12:15.

Crescent, Cashion track teams head to state

Track and field athletes from Crescent and Cashion high schools are headed to the Class 2A State Championships this weekend at Western Heights High School. The Lady Tigers finished in second place at the Cherokee Regional on Saturday with 120 points, while the Lady-Cats finished fifth with 57.

Jays Close Out Districts Against Irish, Set For Regionals

Guthrie’s varsity baseballers wrapped up their district play last week with a split against the McGuinness Fighting Irish. The good news is that Guthrie got its first win in district play in three weeks, and they’re set for their regional tournament destination at Elgin.

Lady ‘Jays slow pitch season ends at regionals

The Guthrie Lady Bluejays’ slow-pitch season came to an end last week in regional action at Jenks. The day started with a 21-2 run rule over Tulsa Memorial, scoring 19 runs in the first inning. The game was called because of the run rule after three innings.

Bluejays, Bluejackets finish third in tournament action

The final weekend of invitational tournaments for the high school basketball season had the Guthrie Bluejays finishing in third place at the Buckle of the Wheat Tournament in Kingfisher. The Coyle Bluejackets finished in third place at their own tournament in Coyle.
