Casey’s Here for Guthrie

Move over, Love’s, there’s a new convenience chain in town. Casey’s General Stores opened their new location on Division Street in front of Wal-Mart this past Friday, July 28. Casey’s had purchased the former Star Stop Conoco building at 1412 S Division last year and had been working the past several months to renovate it for their needs. That work came to fruition this past week.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Guthrie Job Corps student, Bella Kelley. Bella is from Guthrie. Bella has completed the trade of Computer Technology and plans to attend the Job Corps Advanced training to get certified in System Administration and then will pursue a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Voter registration deadline approaches

Friday, August 18, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the September 12 Luther SD I-3 Special Election, Logan County Election Board Secretary Sheleen Winscott said today.

Even after legislative sessions end, our work continues year-round. I have multiple weekly meetings at the Capitol, events here in the district, and I’m also called upon to attend meetings out of state, many of which are related to my work as vice chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Well Kept Wallet, a personal finance website, conducted a survey of 3,000 respondents across the country to explore a ‘debt anxiety index’ for each state by asking respondents about their personal debt anxiety threshold. In other words, they inquired about the debt level, excluding mortgages, at which people begin to feel chronically stressed.

Deadline to request absentee ballot for September 12 election approaches

Voters in Logan County who want absentee ballots mailed to them for the September 12 Luther SD I- 3 Special Election should apply now, County Election Board Secretary Sheleen Winscott said today. Absentee ballots are available to all registered voters, provided they are eligible to vote in the election requested.
