My first day at the Guthrie News Leader was on Monday, January 21, 2013. That was just yesterday, right? It sure feels like it to me anyway. I’ll never forget walking in on my first day and immediately being thrown into the fire writing recap stories— needless to say, I was hooked. Now, after seven-and-a-half years, it’s time for me to say goodbye. That’s the single hardest sentence I think I have ever typed.

Guthrie's Morgan, Robbins named to OCA All-State Team

Guthrie High School golf standouts Luke Morgan and Bo Robbins added more accolades to their resume's this week, as the two seniors were named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team. 

The duo helped lead the Guthrie golf team to back-to-back state titles and were likely en route to a third straight state championship before the Oklahoma Secondary Sports Athletic Association cancelled the season due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

OSSAA sets Friday special board meeting to approve plan for summer activities

Oklahoma high school sports could soon be returning. 

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association executive director David Jackson said the association will be holding a special board meeting on Friday to discuss restarting prep sports across the state. The special board meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m.

Six Logan County golfers set to play in the first-ever Oak Tree Junior Classic

Six Logan County golfers are set to play in the first-ever Oak Tree Junior Classic next Tuesday at Oak Tre Country Club in Edmond. The tournament will be a 36-hole, one-day event with a 120-player field where contestants will play 18 holes at Oak Tree East and 18 holes at Oak Tree West.
