OKLAHOMA – Each year, the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) hosts the 12x12 Art Fundraiser, which features diverse art by 175 Oklahoma artists. Each artist creates a unique piece that is twelve-by-twelve inches, and the artwork will be auctioned Friday, September 25th, 6pm-10pm. This year, the auction is going virtual.
ARCADIA – Singer-songwriter Gordon McKinney will provide Morning Music on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Arcadia Round Barn.
The concert will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. beneath the shade of the giant elm tree on the north side of the barn. Admission is free but donations are accepted. Masks are required.
ARCADIA – Kelsey Avants and Tim Gent will provide Morning Music on July 25, and Wild Heart will perform during the Elm Tree Concert Series on July 26 at the Arcadia Round Barn.
Avants and Gent, who are from Marlow, perform a wide variety of music and especially like swing tunes. Avants is a fiddler and Gent is on guitar. They will perform from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Original work by artists from across Oklahoma will be featured in a Native American Art Show during the semi-annual sidewalk sale, July 24-25 at The Shoppes at Northpark.
The show will be hosted by Private Collections, located in the Studios at North Gallery and Studio.

STILLWATER, Okla. – The state fair is more than an opportunity to eat a deep-fried candy bar, take a ride on a roller coaster or just sit back and watch people. The Oklahoma State Fair and county fairs statewide historically have been opportunities for Oklahoma 4-H’ers to exhibit their work from the last year and compete for a coveted blue ribbon.
STILLWATER, Okla. – When Penelope Harders and Candace Johnson left Meridian Technology Center on March 13, the Practical Nursing students expected to see each other the week after spring break.
Because of COVID-19, one week turned into two. Then two weeks turned into three. Three weeks turned into four.
While they didn’t resume their on-campus training at Tech until June 1, the students relied heavily on their friendship and shared resources to make the school’s distance learning plan work.
OKLAHOMA – Every three years, the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) hosts the highly competitive program, Art 365, in which five Oklahoma-based creative proposals are selected to complete innovative artwork in consultation with a nationally recognized curator. In an unprecedented model for the region, the artists receive an honorarium of $12,000. Over the course of the year, these artists create a body of work that will culminate with exhibitions in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
Online class introduces stenography, career opportunities

Dancing their way from the stage to the big screen, Range of Motion Dance Studio will offer their year-end performance of “The Little Mermaid,” at the Beacon Drive-In Movie Theater in historic Guthrie on July 9th.
The Edmond Genealogical Society is happy to report regular monthly meetings will start again July 20, 2020, with program speaker Chad Williams, Director of the Research Division at the Oklahoma Historical Society. Mr. Williams will give information about the Gateway to Oklahoma History, an online repository of Oklahoma history where visitors can search, view and download newspapers, photographs, maps, and documents concerning the history of the state of Oklahoma.
