Increased Funding for Water Mains and Fire Hydrant Fixups

Graffiti Growing, Daycare Expansion Denied

At the City Council meeting last Tuesday, items on the agenda brought forward discussion on Guthrie daycares, or the lack thereof, and graffiti artists vandalizing property around Guthrie.

Rackley earns Democratic nod for State Senate District 28

One half of the District 28 State Senate race is set. Karen Rackley defeated Tony Wilson on Tuesday night in the Democratic primary. Rackley won 61.29% of the vote, and was named the winner after polls closed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Jeff McCommas and Grant Green were the top performers in the vote. Neither got above 50%, so they will go to a runoff.

McCommas, Green advance to runoff in State Senator District 28 election

The contenders have been thinned out. Two Republicans will go to a runoff in the Oklahoma’s District 28 State Senator race. Jeff McCommas and Grant Green were the top performers in the vote. Neither got above 50%, so they will go to a runoff. Jeff McCommas received 28.
Either Collin Duel or Karmin Grider will become Oklahoma’s House District 31 representative.

Duel, Grider go to runoff in State House District 31 race

The race to take Garry Mize’s seat has been simplified. Either Collin Duel or Karmin Grider will become Oklahoma’s House District 31 representative. Polls closed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Duel received 44.22% of the vote, and Grider received 34.79%.

Lake levels as Fourth of July weekend approaches

The summer is in full swing and families are searching for water to play in with heat hammering Oklahoma.  With the Fourth of July being celebrated Monday, Oklahoma lakes are set to see a rise in people taking advantage of the amenities Oklahoma lakes have to offer.

District 28 State Senator Candidate Q&A

The Oklahoma State Senator in District 28 represents Lincoln and Seminole county, as well as parts of Logan, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie County. Members of those counties will determine who their representative will be. Six people are running for the seat.
