From Crescent Superintendent, Courtney Knapp

"Crescent Public Schools has been notified by the Crescent Police that an escaped inmate from a correctional facility in eastern Arkansas and his two accomplices, one with ties to Crescent Public Schools, may try to come to the community and/or school. The inmate is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The Crescent Police are working with the guardians of children who are related to one of the accomplices. We take this situation very seriously and are working with the Crescent Police Department to add additional police presence on our campus. All staff have been advised and will be alert to who is entering the school or near the buildings. Identification WILL BE checked. If there is a need to go on lockdown, we will advise staff and parents. Our primary concern is the safety of our students and employees.

We have also notified parents of the possible threat and asked them to partner with us to make sure our schools and our community are safe and to notify the police immediately if they see the escapee or the accomplices."
