Bluejays sweep Guymon on Senior Night

Jones signs LOI with Southwestern College

Pictured above is Guthrie senior Lady Bluejays player Madalyn Jones signing her Letter of Intent on April 28 at the high school. Also present was Former Head Coach Malcolm Roberts, as Wenona Jones (Madlyn’s mom) also signs the LOI as her father, Darren looks on from behind.

LadyCats, Lady Tigers has big weekend, state meet at Catoosa

The Cashion LadyCats won the Class 2A regional meet at Cherokee on April 30 with 116 points as the Crescent Lady Tigers finished in fourth place in the team race with 81 points. The two rivals started right off the block when Cashion edged Crescent in the 4 x 100 meter relay race 50.40 to 51.

Mercy to offer free physicals for GHS athletics tomorrow

Athletic Physicals for 7-11 graders for the 2022- 2023 school year will be available from 8:30-4 p.m. at the school tomorrow May 5. Guthrie Athletic Director Jon Chappell said the physicals are done at no charge and are done so the athletes transportation issues are not affected.

HS Soccer to host camps May 14

Guthrie Junior High and Guthrie High School soccer teams would like to invite the children ages 5-12 to participate in the 2022 Soccer Camp. The camps will be on May 14 from 3-4:30 p.m. for five and six year old soccer players. From 3-6 p.m., the 7-12 year-old soccer players will take the field.

Cashion advances to regionals

The Cashion Wildcats baseball team advanced to Class 2A regional play this weekend after defeating Merritt 10-0 and 10-3 in two games last week in the district action. The Wildcats are currently ranked sixth in the state with a record of 21-5.

Lady Bluejays slow pitch season finished

The Guthrie Lady Bluejays traveled to Jenks on April 27 to play No.5 Jenks and Sand Springs in a slow pitch softball regional. The Lady Bluejays went 1-2 and finished the season 13-11. Guthrie played Sand Springs in the opener and would win 10-2.

Street Kings Car Show Kept Everyone Entertained

Saturday’s Street Kings car show at the Logan County Fairgrounds entertained families throughout the day with some of the best-looking hot rods in Guthrie.

OSSAA announces football division changes

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) announced last week at their regular monthly meeting several football classes change that will affect local schools starting in the 2024 district realignment and playoffs.
