Cashion Dedicates New Baseball Field

The Cashion baseball team dedicated its new stadium, Lance Beutler Field, Monday afternoon. The field is named after former Cashion baseball player Lance Beutler, who died in a car accident in 2006. The Beutler family was recognized during the ceremony, as were Cashion’s former all-state players.

Baseball Legends Visit Guthrie During ’89ers

Baseball legends descended upon Guthrie during the ’89ers Celebration. Several former players with ties to Oklahoma stopped by the Oklahoma Territorial Capital Sports Museum on Saturday to sign autographs and visit with fans.

Lady Bluejays season rolls on

The Guthrie Lady Bluejays slow pitch softball team traveled to Morrison on April 8-9 for the Morrison Festival and went 2-3. The Lady Bluejays are now 14-8 in their inaugural season of slow pitch with six games remaining. Guthrie was scheduled to play Harding Charter Prep on April 12 i n Guthrie.

Bluejays go 3-1 in Duncan

The Guthrie High School baseball team takes a 14-5 record into a critical stretch of their season over the next two weeks. The Bluejays (14-5 overall, 8-0 5A-2) were in action at press time with Carl Albert (18-5, 6-0) on Monday and Tuesday.

Guthrie Softball Beats Enid in Ultra-High-Scoring Affair

It was another solid week for the Guthrie Lady Bluejays on the softball fields as they went 2-2. Guthrie defeated Enid on March 29, split a doubleheader with Putnam City on March 30 and lost to an undefeated Perkins-Tryon on April 5.

Guthrie Track Competes in Catoosa

The Guthrie High School track teams were on the road in eastern Oklahoma again on April 2, this time to Catoosa for their annual track classic that had 36 boys’ and girls’ teams entered.

Lady Jays Host Golf Tournament

The Guthrie High School Girls’ golf team hosted a tournament on March 25 at Aqua Canyon golf course with 17 schools sending teams. Carl Albert would win the big school tournament with a score of 389. Guthrie would finish third with a score of 400.

Guthrie Softball Took Third in Hennessey Tournament

The Guthrie High School Lady Bluejays travelled to Hennessey on March 25 and 26 and finished in third place in the tournament. The Lady Bluejays are now 10-3 on the season and were in action Monday and Tuesday night with their first home games of the 2021 season.
