LiftFest charity event scheduled

Guthrie businesses, City of Guthrie, Guthrie Chamber of Commerce, Kicker Audio Performance, Vance Auto Group and other supporting companies and individuals have scheduled Midwest Liftfest 2024 for Saturday September 28th. The event, previously named Midwest Jeepfest, will begin at 12 p.m.

Guthrie Rotary Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Matthew Jirous. He is the son of Zuzana Jirous and Kevin Mihalik. Matthew is active in band, wrestling, Student Council, Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta and Bluejay Crew.

African artistry on display at local museum

Artwork from Langston University’s former dean, Dr. Jo Ann Clark, is now on display at the Owens Art Place Museum until mid-October, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of African-inspired quilts.

GHS Cross Country opens season at Deer Creek

The Guthrie High School cross country teams traveled to Deer Creek to open the season on August 24. The event was loaded with Class 6A teams in the field of ten teams and 189 runners in the varsity events. Taylor Schroeder led the way in the varsity girls event placing 44th in a time of 21.06.

Logan County 4-H Robotics Club Receives Grant

The Logan County 4-H Robotics Club received $500 in grant funds from the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation. This grant provides funds to enhance and expand program delivery and improve the quality of educational programs for 4-H and adults.
