Coyle emerges as lone area football playoff survivor

Hibbs Signs with Northern Oklahoma College

Guthrie High School senior, Codi Hibbs, signs her letter of intent to play softball at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. Hibbs, a utility infielder and third baseman for Guthrie who will play shortstop at NOC, accepted a scholarship covering about 70% of her tuition.

Playoff opener renews longtime rivalry

An old rivalry will be renewed Friday when Guthrie High hosts Bishop McGuinness to open the Class 5A football playoffs.The Bluejays (8-2) are a first-round host by virtue of their secondplace finish in District 5A-II. McGuinness (9-1) finished third in 5A-1.

Bluejays focus on Lawton in regular-season finale

For Guthrie High football coach Kelly Beeby, the message to his players following the Bluejays’ disappointing 47-42 loss to defending Class 5A state champion Carl Albert was to look forward.“I told our kids we’ve got to go beat Lawton this week,” Beeby said Monday.

Guthrie Golf Coach Earns Recognition

Guthrie High School golf coach Rick Meshew has been a fixture in Bluejay athletics since 1992, leading one of Oklahoma’s most successful high school golf programs.In his first season, Meshew guided Guthrie to the first of four state championships, with additional titles in 1998, 2018 and 2019.
