It’s Carl Albert week for Guthrie football, which means not much needs to be said.The Bluejays know there’s plenty at stake on the next to last weekend of the Class 5A regular season when they travel to Midwest City to face the Titans on Friday night.A district title.

Guthrie wins district showdown with Altus

Zane Thomas scored two touchdowns, including the clincher in overtime, to lift Guthrie over Altus 41-35 in a Class 5A-2 football showdown Saturday afternoon inside Jelsma Stadium.

GHS alum Brycen Sampson (’25) sets high standards for himself. If he is going to focus on achieving something significant, then he is going to give it his best effort. In high school, he excelled academically, and was in both Choir and JROTC.

Class 5A Showdown This Friday at Jelsma Stadium

Football showdowns don’t get much bigger than Friday night’s Class 5A battle between Guthrie and Altus at Jelsma Stadium.Altus (7-0, 4-0) is undefeated, and the Bluejays (6-1, 4-0) haven’t lost since the first week of the season. And neither team has a district loss.

Guthrie steamrolls past Western Heights

With the toughest two games of its Class 5A schedule yet to be played, Guthrie took care of business against winless Western Heights with a 56-0 road victory Thursday night.

Lady Jays Fall Short In State Softball Opener

OKLAHOMA CITY — For the second straight year, Guthrie softball’s quest for a Class5A state title ended on the opening day of play at Devon Park.Pryor, the defending state champions, erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning ofThursday’s quarterfinal to erase an 8-6 deficit and went on to win 18-8.
