County 4-H’ers recognized at 103rd State 4-H Roundup

A group of Logan County 4-H’ers were recognized for their achievements in 4-H at the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma Honor Night Assembly during the 103rd State 4-H Roundup at Oklahoma State University.Isabella White was named the state record book winner in the photography project.
The Guthrie High School Bluejays got to hold their first practice of the 2024 season on August 12. The team will go four days in shorts and helmets before putting all the gear on this Friday. The team travels to Elgin next weekend for their only scrimmage and start the season on August 29 with Tuttle at Jelsma Stadium. Photos by Mike Monahan. GHS FB end of first practice of season.

The Clay Tartar Track Complex was the site for the inaugural Gary Boxley Elementary Track Meet last week. Bryce Balenseifen, who coaches track and cross country at Guthrie High, came up with the idea to get the elementary students involved in track at an early age.

Lady Bluejays 11th at Class 5A state meet

Guthrie High School’s Lady Bluejays track and field team capped its 2024 season with an 11th-place finish at the Class 5A State Track Meet, scoring 30 points. Lincoln Christian won the title with 123.
Regional champs! Gavin Cook placed 5th at 2 singles, Jaxson and Mason Mayer won the 2 doubles draw, Lane Goode and Carson Olmsted won the 1 doubles draw and Isaiah Dearman placed 4th at 1 singles. We will be playing at the State Tournament in Oklahoma City this past weekend.
