Loy Don Elmore
Loy Don Elmore was born October 1, 1940 in Lovell, Oklahoma and passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Loy Don attended Marshall schools for all 12 years. In high school, he played baseball, football and basketball. After high school, Loy Don loved to play men’s league slow pitch softball. Loy Don married the love of his life on May 12, 1961 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Loy Don and Fern made their forever home in Lovell, Oklahoma in May 1963.
He was a bricklayer by trade and bricked hundreds of homes throughout central and northern Oklahoma. He gave back to his community as well as the community of Pond Creek updating the dugouts for the softball field and built the Guthrie dog pound. Loy Don was firmly focused on his family and their activities. It was rare not to see and hear him “advising” from the stands of softball and baseball games and lending a helping hand. He never showed up to a game without an ice chest full of Gatorade for all. Loy Don and Fern spent many years laboring on their farm and helping many friends and neighbors at their farms. Loy Don spent many hours fishing and hunting in the woods of Oklahoma and in the mountains of southeastern Colorado.
