Guthrie High’s track teams completed their regular season in the rainshortened Suburban Conference meet on Friday and piled up a number of wins in their respective classes. The Lady Bluejays varsity team only had 11 events scored and finished second with 85 points, The boys varsity placed sixth with 35 points in 13 events.

The Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical Colleges has appointed Dr. Ruth Ray Jackson as interim president of Langston University, beginning July 6, 2023. Dr. Jackson will serve until a nationwide search for President Smith’s successor is completed and the University’s seventeenth president assumes office.

Oak Cliff Fire responded to reports of an explosion and subsequent fire at a commercial building in southern Logan County late Thursday afternoon. Initial calls on the blaze came in just after 4:00pm, for a building on South Sooner Road, slightly off the road in an industrial building park just north of Charter Oak Road.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Returns Saturday, May 13

On Saturday, May 13, letter carriers across central and western Oklahoma will collect nonperishable food donations from homes on their routes as part of the 31st National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Oklahoma residents will receive plastic donation bags in their mailbox the week of May 8.
