Guthrie High School will host the much anticipated “Touch the Trucks” community event from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 27th. This free event, open to the public, coincides with National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, which runs the previous week, as well as recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

This annual festival has become a cornerstone event in the community, drawing between 400-500 attendees in previous years. The event has also featured over 60 local and state agencies, providing a wealth of information, resources, and support for crime victims and their families. The indoor portion of the event will focus on educational activities, with agencies offering insights into crime prevention, victim rights, and support services.

Outside, the festival will have a wide array of “cool” vehicles from various first responder units, offering an interactive experience for all attendees. Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to explore these vehicles up close, adding an element of fun and education about the roles these vehicles play in public safety.

In addition to vehicle displays, the event will feature a variety of food trucks, ensuring that all who come to enjoy the festival can likewise sample a wide range of tasty treats throughout the afternoon.

Finally, an indoor blood drive will also be held, encouraging participants to donate blood and help save lives.

Activities for children will include games, crafts, and giveaways, making it a family-friendly day out that educates and entertains. The festival not only provides a day of fun but also plays a critical role in raising awareness for child abuse prevention and supporting crime victims’ rights—a cause that remains vital to the community.

This year’s festival promises to be an engaging and informative event, continuing its mission to support, educate, and entertain the community in meaningful ways.
