Teacher Vacancies Open Across Logan County

This summer is off to a rocky start for Logan County public schools, due to the increase in vacant positions needing to be filled by the fall semester.

Whether teachers are leaving for retirement or for better opportunities, there is a shortage.

“All over the state, schools have faced shortages in filling teacher vacancies over the last few years. In Crescent, we have had several retirements this year, and others that have moved to other professions or to other schools for promotions. Our goal is to continue to provide a quality education for our students, and we are currently interviewing and are in the process of hiring some highly qualified staff to fill the openings” said Superintendent of Crescent schools, Courtney Knapp.

Superintendent Rodney Vollmer of Mulhall-Orlando public schools is currently looking for the following positions to be filled;

• Paraprofessional

• Special Education Teacher

• Bus Driver

• Cafeteria Staff

• Janitor

• Assistant Superintendent Doug Ogle of Guthrie public schools, vacancies that Guthrie needs filled include;

• Two Speech Pathologists

• 1st Grade Teacher

• 8th Grade Reading Teacher

• 7th & 8th Grade Creative Writing Teacher

• Four Route Drivers

• Four Cafeteria Workers

• Three Paraprofessionals

• Night Custodian
