FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that their chamber investor, Sealed With a Kiss (SWAK), recently celebrated THIRTY years in business! The owner, Keely Northup, started the business when she was just 24 years old. Sealed With a Kiss has grown into one of the largest yarn shops in the United States. It all began when Keely’s mom returned to knitting after an intensive period of hand-quilting and wanted to knit for her Keely. Practically overnight, Keely and her mom had the idea to start a pattern design company. Keely designed the patterns and her mom developed innovative techniques necessary to create flawless results for intarsia knitting. They took out a small ad in the back of a Vogue Knitting magazine and a short while later, they were selling patterns to individuals and stores around the world. Their mail-order pattern company quickly blossomed and Keely was able to quit her full time job as a CPA. They started in a tiny house on the west side of Guthrie and opened their doors to the public and expanded into a full-service yarn shop. They quickly outgrew that location so then purchased a historic building on Oklahoma Avenue which is still their location today. Their team continues to work hard, innovate, inspire and share knowledge. They enjoy extending their friendship to all who walk through their doors, either in-person or virtually, via their online community.

Congratulations to Keely and the SWAK team on thirty years of business. We are so proud and grateful to have you in the Guthrie community.
