Body Worx of Guthrie is working with the National Auto Body Council, insurance partners, a local towing company, and other great supporters to bring the NABC First Responders Emergency Extrication to Logan County on March 25, 2023. There will be classroom instruction, Genesis and Hurst tool hands-on demos, aluminum vehicle fire, and electric vehicle tips and tricks to keep responders and occupants safe during extrication.

Lunch, drinks, and a great educational, hands-on experience is provided at the new Meridian South Campus located at 3025 South Division in Guthrie for all of our first responders at no charge.

Due to instructor capacities, the number of attendees from each department may be limited. Attendees may come as an observer and watch the day’s events or come as a participant and bring their bunker gear for hands-on demonstration.

Body Worx is hoping to have a food truck outside for observers to purchase lunch and special tumbler cups, as well as a 1934 parade fire truck that was one of Oklahoma City’s first trucks. There will also be an area where vehicle air bags will be deployed to demonstrate the force and speed at which they expel.

Participants will learn hands-on extrication information on newer model vehicles provided by Farmers Insurance and Nationwide and learn when and why to cut and pry in numerous accident scenarios. They will learn fact from fiction on how to deal with Boron steel, high-strength steel (HSS), and aluminum alloys while extricating. Safety and extrication procedures while working with hybrid and electric vehicles will be covered as well as how airbags and restraint systems operate in a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) portion of the course. Instructors will be provided by Genesis Rescue Systems.

To register, contact Jessica Stegner at (405) 2825014.
