OnTuesday,September 27th, the Mulhall-Orlando FFA Chapter officers Callen Oldenburg, Casyn Larman, Hanna Schmidt, Willie Schoonover, Lora Golay, and Kaylee Blagden attended the 2022 Northwest COLT Conference at the Enid Events Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

Put together by Oklahoma’s state FFA officers, this year’s Chapter Off i c e r Leadership Training Conference had the theme of, “Ready, Set, Go!” Sarah Edsall, a professional speaker and a former Oklahoma FFA Southwest District Vice President, was the keynote speaker of the conference. After hearing some of her experiences, the officer teams were split up into separate groups. They then participated in activities that focused on anticipating problems before they happen, rather than reacting to problems as they occur. A total of sixty-two FFA chapter officer teams from the Northwest area attended this year.

“We live in a constantly evolving and ever-changing society. If the next generation is going to lead in a world far from fixed and certain, they must focus on what well come next in their journey,” said Braden Burns, State FFA President. “That was part of the inspiration behind our COLT Conference theme, “Ready, Set, Go!” Much like a NASCAR driver looking for his next opportunity to pull into the lead, this year’s conference is focused on training leaders to look ahead to what’s next; the twist, the turns, and the opportunities that chapter officers have to make a difference in their communities.”

With the Tulsa State Fair in full swing, members of the Mulhall-Orlando FFA are keeping busy with activities, such as livestock judging and Career Development Events, and are looking forward to so much more!
