The Logan County Sheriff ’s Office is kicking off its 4th annual Angel Tree Christmas Program on Friday, November 25th, so that this Holiday Season might be a little brighter for needy children in the county.

The Angel Tree will be set up in the lobby of the Sheriff ’s Office at 216 South Broad Street in Guthrie, and the “Angel Cards” will be added as decorations. Each card contains the name and age of a child in need as well as items parents have listed that the child needs, including clothing sizes.

Superintendents of each Logan County school district were given applications to provide to parents in need, so that the Angel Cards could be created. Churches in the county were also enlisted to help find children for the Angel Tree.

Those wishing to participate are invited to stop by and pull an Angel Card from the tree. The giver will then fill out a corresponding card with their own information plus the code number of the Angel Card they’ve taken, so that the cards can be tracked. The gifts can be given confidentially or with the giver’s identification.

Givers should bring their purchases into the station lobby unwrapped. The Sheriff ’s Deputies will wrap all of the items that are returned and deliver them throughout Logan County.

Please return all items by December 16th, so that they will have time to wrap and deliver them. This is a wonderful way to get into the Holiday Spirit by giving to a child to let them know that they are not forgotten during this hard time.
