Citizens of Logan County were faced with multiple elections yesterday, everything from sales tax extensions to school bonds to open school board seats.

In Guthrie, voters overwhelmingly approved to extend the City’s Capital Improvement Project (CIP) sales tax for an additional 15 years, for the purposes of funding several needed infrastructure projects. The final tally showed 436 voters in favor, or 79.85%, and 110 voters against, 20.15%.

In Coyle, after two prior failed attempts in the past year to pass a school bond issue for needed improvements to the district’s aging facilities, the school board put together a package and convinced voters to approve it, by a final total of 235 in favor and 108 against. The percentage of yes votes came in at 68.51% to surpass the required three-fifths threshold required for passage.

In Crescent, Emily Williams and Josh James went head-to-head for an open seat on the district board. James emerged victorious, garnering 334 votes, 55.39%, to Williams’ tally of 269, 44.61%.
