Guthrie’s annual trash off days April 14th and 15th

Monday, March 20th was the official first day of Spring for 2023. Residents needing help with their Spring cleaning should be aware of Guthrie’s annual Trash Off Days on Friday and Saturday, April 14th and 15th at the Convenience Center at 1506 North Academy Road in Guthrie. Convenience Center personnel reserve the right to refuse loads brought in for profit.

Hours: Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Per the Annual Trash Off Day Guidelines, all participating persons must be residents of Guthrie, and free disposal will not be extended to commercial waste customers (contractors, businesses, etc.). A current City of Guthrie utility bill and photo ID will be required.

Truck size is limited to one ton or under, and no dump beds or dump-type trailers will be allowed due to placement of free dump boxes. Bumper pull trailers up to 16 feet long are allowed.

Brush disposal is allowed with the condition that all limbs be of 10-inches in diameter or less and be cut into lengths of no more than 6 feet.

Conditions for appliance disposal are that any and all refrigerant must be removed in a manner prescribed by law, and all compressors, capacitors, etc., must be removed from the appliance.

Environmental Waste Management (EMI) will be accepting special waste items on Saturday, April 15th from 8:00 a.m. to noon only.

Special waste items for this event only: Latex paint and used motor oil. Latex paint must be dry. No liquid latex will be accepted on either day.

Waste tires will be accepted on Saturday only with the following conditions: no commercial tires will be accepted (i.e., tires from dealers, salvage yards, or service stations); no exempt tires will be accepted (i.e., large semi-truck tires, tractor tires, large off-road tires, or equipment tires such as forklift tires, backhoe tires, etc.); and no tires mounted on rims will be accepted.

The following special waste items will be accepted by EMI on Saturday: cleaners/cleaning supplies; yard care products; pesticides/ herbicides; acids/caustics; thinners; flammables; fryer oil; smoke alarms; prescription drugs; liquid mercury thermometers; antifreeze; oil based aerosol and hobby paints; spray paint; propane cylinders; lamp oils; Coleman camping fuel; pool chemicals; fluorescent bulbs; batteries; and shotgun/pistol rifle bullets of .50 caliber and less.
