Candidate Filing Begins For Municipal Offices

Candidates interested in filing for municipal office in 5 Logan County municipalities will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning 8 a.m. Monday, February 6.

Sheleen Winscott, Secretary of the Logan County Election Board, said Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 8 when the filing period ends. Winscott reminds voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than Friday, February 10 and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices: Town of Langston City, Board of Trustees, Office No. 1, a 4 year term Town of Langston City, Board of Trustees, Office No. 3, a 4 year term Town of Langston City, Town Clerk-Treasurer, a 4 year term Town of Mulhall, Board of Trustees, Office No. 1, a 4 year term Town of Mulhall, Board of Trustees, Office No. 3, a 4 year term Town of Marshall, Board of Trustees, a 4 year term Town of Marshall, Town Clerk, a 4 year term Town of Orlando, Board of Trustees, a 4 year term Town of Orlando, Board of Trustees, Unexpired, a 2 year term City of Crescent, Councilmemeber at Large, a 4 year term City of Crescent, Councilmember, Ward No. 3, a 4 year term City of Crescent, Councilmember, Ward No. 4, a 4 year term Declaration of Candidacy forms can be downloaded from the State Election Board website at oklahoma. gov/elections or by contacting your County Election Board office at (405) 282-1900 or logancounty@elections. ok.gov.

The municipal offices at stake in the Town of Langston City, the Town of Mulhall, the Town of Marshall, the Town of Orlando, and the City of Crescent will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 4, 2023.
