The Guthrie City Council Tuesday approved soliciting bids for the LWCF Owen Fields project which will be done in phases, in part, due to rising costs. Public Works Director Tenny Maker told the Council the project cost estimate has nearly doubled in price.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Mariah Dightman. She is the daughter of Sheldon and Monique Dightman. Mariah is active in Lady Jays Basketball and the Heritage Club. She was named to the All-Tournament teams at the Noble and Community Christian Tournaments. Mariah was a 3rd team Suburban Conference selection in 2023. Mariah will attend college on a basketball scholarship and pursue a major in Kinesiology. She has a few college offers and will visit Coffeyville Community College this weekend.
