Guthrie Awarded a $625,940 from ACOG for Street Overlay Projects

The City of Guthrie received a $ 625,940 CRRSAA (Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act) Grant from the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) for street overlay projects, Originally the City estimated a $500,000 grant, to be combined with $125,940 of local funds. However, the $625,940 CRRSAA grant fully funded the project.

The approximately two miles of paving improvements under the CRRSAA grant includes: 1) Pine Street- Approximately 2,615 feet of Pine Street will be resurfaced beginning just north of Bird Creek northward to Hillcrest Avenue. This portion of the project will include a partial mill on the southmost section of the road to maintain proper drainage, a 0.5-inch-thick layer of leveling course, and a two-inch-thick asphalt overlay. New guardrails will also be installed on the bridge crossing Bird Creek.

2) East Oklahoma Avenue- Approximately 2,300 feet of East Oklahoma Avenue from Broad Street to Capitol will be resurfaced. This will include a 1.5-inch-thick mill along the entire stretch and a two-inchthick asphalt overlay. The project will also include centerline striping and street parking striping.

3) East Oklahoma Avenue- Approximately 3,120 feet of East Oklahoma Avenue from Pine Street east to State Highway 33 will be paved. This will include a partial mill of about 500 feet of pavement on the eastmost end of Oklahoma, a 0.5- inchthick leveling course, and a two-inch-thick asphalt overlay.
