Body Recovered in Guthrie Pond

  Guthrie Police responded to a call just after 7 a.m. reporting a body in a pond near Woodlawn. Guthrie’s Police sent a recovery boat to retrieve the unidentified white male. A couple discovered the body when they were walking their dog at Spring Creek.

Alsup Wins Gerald D. Wilkins Award

Guthrie’s City Manager, Leroy Alsup, earned one of the highest honors for a city manager in the state over the weekend. Alsup received the Gerald D. Wilkins City Management Award for Outstanding Municipal Government Experience, recognizing Oklahoma’s City Manager of the Year.

Training Horses not Humans

Horses need athletic training too. “Just like a human athlete does specialized exercises to be able to be good at their sport, we do kind of the same things with horses,” Summer Terry, Owner-Operator of Superior Therapy LLC, said.

High speed chase ends in Guthrie

A high-speed chase ended in Logan County on 2nd and Grant in Guthrie. Multiple agencies from Payne, Noble and Logan Counties aided. The chase began in Noble County and ended with the Ford truck driving off the road and flipping on its side. No one was injured and the driver was taken into custody.

Tractor Trailer Overturned on I-35 Entrance Ramp

A tractor trailer flipped on the I-35 entrance ramp next to East Highway 33 in Guthrie. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the semi-truck exited I-35 and lost power. Then the truck went through the exit and onto the entrance ramp before the tractor trailer overturned.
