Guthrie’s own Ethel M. Bowens, who celebrated her 112th birthday on Aug. 26, 2021, passed away Tuesday morning, leaving behind an incredible legacy as a mother, wife and skilled homemaker, and a remarkable 136 descendants through extended families of her six children.

Gina Racquel Powell, 48, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on April 9, 2022. Gina was born on October 4, 1973, in Seguin, Texas to Johnny Powell and Maria (Arenas) Robinson. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel.

Guthrie Police Issue Parking Rules for Parade this Saturday

The Guthrie Police Department has issued their special notice for the parade route this Saturday that includes closed streets and detours. The parade is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. noon but preparartions start in the early morning hours with road closures.
