Crescent beats Cashion to win district title

Kade Varner threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Crescent Tigers (8-1) to a 28-21 win against Highway 74 rival Cashion last Thursday, securing the district title. The Tigers will host Dibble (5-5) on Friday night.

The Logan County Board of Commissioners Friday accepted the resignation of Wayne Murphey as Logan County Assessor effective Dec. 31. “I think he was a great asset to the county, and I appreciate his service,” said District 3 Commissioner Monty Piercey.

A dangerous grassfire broke out near Mulhall Saturday evening, and raged on into the night. Citizens of Mulhall were asked to evacuate the area for their safety, but the evacuation call was lifted about an hour and a half later.
