M-O Livestock Booster Club Holds Annual Event

On Saturday, January 14, the Mulhall-Orlando Livestock Booster Club held their annual pork chop dinner and auction at the Mulhall Elementary Gymnasium. This event is held in order to raise money to support local livestock exhibitors at the Logan County Premium Sale in February.

It’s A New Year with New Laws in Oklahoma

Effective January 1, 2023, eight new laws took effect throughout the state. Oklahomans should be aware of changes to criminal investigations, ecommerce, voting rights, and unemployment benefits as well as taxation and tax code. The Oklahoma Inform Act was created by Senate Bill 418.

City Sales Tax numbers grow

The City of Guthrie’s sales tax numbers are up once again. The City received $735,398 in sales tax this month from November business. This amount is 11 percent higher or $74,529 more as compared to the same month last year at $660,869.

M-O FFA Members Talk SAEs On Podcast

With the holidays being in full swing and the recent cool weather, the Mulhall-Orlando FFA has been kept busy, especially with a few interviews for the Off-Farm Income Podcast. Matt Brechwald, the podcast’s creator and host, runs a small farm in Idaho with his wife and daughter.

City Council approves rezoning requests

Four properties at 1911 E. Oklahoma Avenue will be rezoned for new development after approval was granted Tuesday by Guthrie’s City Council. Two properties are zoned R-5 and two properties are zoned C-1, and the request is to rezone all properties to C-2, Planning Director Dan Kassik said.
