School board hires new GUES principal, head softball coach

The Guthrie Board of Education Monday night approved the hiring of Michelle Wilson-Adams to be the next principal at Guthrie Upper Elementary School.She replaces Jeff Ball who served the district for 29 years, most recently as the GUES Principal for the 2023-24 school year.

City Council hears sales tax collection update

The Guthrie City Council Tuesday was updated by City Manager Eddie Faulkner about the City’s sales tax revenue, and budget planning for the next fiscal year.“We’re working actively on the budget at this time and we have begun the first round of negotiations with the FOP,” Faulkner said.

Logan County deputies discovered two bodies this morning in a south Logan County trailer park.

Deputies responded to a call at an address on Wildwood Road just before 9:00am and found the two bodies. Investigators speculate that this was a murder-suicide, although they are still early in their investigation.The News Leader will publish further details as they become available.
