A second-chance 30yard field goal as time expired gave Bishop McGuiness a 30-27 win against Guthrie High on Friday in a showdown between two of the top five teams in Class 5A.

Lady Bluejays qualify for Class 5A softball tournament

It took the Guthrie Lady Bluejays softball team an extra game, but they are headed back to the Class 5A State Tournament next week in Oklahoma City at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. The tournament starts Thursday.

Guthrie High’s softball team closed the regular season with four wins and a tie to finish 22-7-1 and second in the district.

Guthrie cross country teams third at Owasso

Guthrie High’s cross country teams finished third at the Owasso meet last weekend. The Lady Bluejays collected 116 points in a field of 11 teams. Owasso won the meet with 21 points and Edmond Memorial was second with 35. Both are Class 6A schools.

Lady Bluejays celebrate Senior Night with softball victory for Ashlee Eichler

Guthrie High’s softball team celebrated Senior Night with a 2-0 win Monday night against the Oklahoma City Broncos Home School team and honored its lone senior, Ashlee Eichler, who played a big role in the victory. Two third-inning runs held up for the Lady Bluejays’ 19th win of the year.

Guthrie High School’s cross country teams traveled to Edmond Santa Fe last Saturday and both teams finished in third place as Piedmont dominated both races.
