Tigers’ second-half surge sparks district win

Four second-half touchdowns rallied the Crescent Tigers to a 44-23 districtopening victory at Watonga this past weekend. Crescent ( 4- 0) had trailed 17-14 at halftime but outscored the hosts 30-6 the rest of the way.

Lady Bluejays beat Duncan to win district, host regional next week

Senior Night was extra special last Thursday, when the Guthrie Lady Bluejays softball team beat Duncan 8-2 to clinch first place in District 5A-1 to qualify as a regional host Oct. 4-6.

Lady Bluejays win Pre State XC meet; boys finish fourth

Guthrie High’s girls cross country team won the annual Pre State meet Saturday on the same Edmond Santa Fe High course that will be used for the state meet in four weeks. The Lady Bluejays collected 60 points (placing 4-8-9-18-23) over 10 other teams and a field of 83 runners.

Bluejays declaw Class 4A Tigers for Homecoming

What a game! What a crowd! And what a defensive effort by the Guthrie Bluejays on Friday night in a 20-3 Homecoming win against the No. 4 Class 4A Tuttle Tigers. In front of a noisy, overflow crowd inside Jelsma Stadium, the Bluejays virtually shut down a potent Tiger offense to improve to 4-0.
