Titans stun Bluejays in closing minute

For the second time in three years, the Carl Albert Titans stunned the Guthrie Bluejays in the closing minute at Jelsma Stadium, this time on a 6-yard touchdown pass with 45 seconds remaining to pull out a 24-21 victory. In 2021, the Titans scored at the end of the game to win 22-19 at Jelsma.

Guthrie Jr. High girls win state cross country by a point

Guthrie Junior High School’s girls team captured top honors at the state All Star Championships in Chickasha last Thursday by edging out Sapulpa 45-46. The boys finished fourth in their meet with 105 points. Oklahoma Christian School and Carl Albert tied for first with 61 points.

Guthrie Ladyjays WIN against Coweta

Guthrie Ladyjays score three runs in bottom of seventh inning to beat Coweta 6-5. The Lady Bluejays play the winner of Elgin and Piedmont at 2:30 pm in Norman tomorrow at OU Softball Stadium for Class 5A State Championship. Way to go Ladyjays!!

Guthrie scores four times in the bottom of the sixth inning and scores the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Tahlequah 8-7. Guthrie plays winner of Carl Albert and Coweta at noon on Friday in Shawnee.

Bluejays, Lady Bluejays sweep Suburban Conference XC meet

Guthrie High School’s varsity cross country teams dominated the Suburban Conference meet last Thursday at Carl Albert. The Lady Bluejays started the morning by defeating the hosts 24-56, posting a 2-3-4-6-9 finish in claiming the title.
