Guthrie Public Schools Celebrates Future Farmers of America Program

Last week was National Future Farmers of America Week, and although the weather may have inhibited some of our plans, it’s always a great time to celebrate the rich history of the school's FFA program.The Guthrie FFA Program dates back to 1937 and has seen decades of success.

Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Noah Trask. He is the son of Michael and Lisa Trask. Noah is active in soccer, Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society. Noah placed 3rd at the OU Math Day. He is proud to be a part of GHS’s best soccer team in school history.

Bluejacket Buzz Honors Outstanding Students and Educators

The third-grade class at Coyle Elementary School hosted the much-anticipated Bluejacket Buzz, a special event recognizing students for their achievements and character. Several students were honored, and a prestigious award was presented by the Coyle Foundation.

Guthrie AJROTC bests Clark AFJROTC for win No. 2

The Guthrie Army Junior ROTC air rifle team won its second competition of the year over Clark AFJROTC (San Antonio) by a score of 885.3 to 844.7 in a week-long event.Jesseana Holder led Guthrie with a score of 241.

Council approves acceptance of grant for multi discipline training center, off-site communications center.

The Guthrie City Council on Monday approved the awarding of a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (ODEM) funding up to 50% of a multi discipline training center, and off-site communications center.The grant totals $928,418.

State Budget Leaders Receive Revenue Certification

State budget leaders got their final revenue certification from the Board of Equalization recently. The Legislature is authorized to appropriate up to $12.3 billion for state programs and services for Fiscal Year 2026.
