Guthrie Rotary Student of the Week

The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Cooper Walters. He is the son of Jason and Lindsey Walters. Cooper has been a starter for 4 years on the football team and powerlifting. He is in the National Honor Society, Senior Representative for Prep Red Zone and The Daily Oklahoman.

The adoption of Labor Day took hard work

Come the first Monday of September, many children and their parents start to face the reality that school, if it hasn’t yet started, is about to begin again. That’s because Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer.
ChrisEvans, Guthrie Chamber Board Member, Dr. Ruth Jackson, President of Langston University, Brittany Timmons, CEO of Guthrie Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Mike Simpson, Superintendent of Guthrie Public Schools, and Dr. Doug Major, Superintendent of Meridian Technology Center at the annual State of the Schools Luncheon at Meridian Technology Center South Campus. This annual luncheon is sponsored by the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce.
