Community Rallies Again After Vandalism Damages Mini Melba Cinema

When Jason and Linda Pottet and Christopher Pollard set out in 2023 to bring classic films to downtown Guthrie, they used their own funds to create The Mini Melba Cinema — an outdoor movie venue named after Guthrie’s original theater, the Melba.

The Guthrie Rotary Club Students of the Week are Clayton Carpenter and Brooklyn Schmidt. Clayton is the son of John and Emily Carpenter and Amanda and Shawn Taylor. He is active in football, track, power lifting and National Honor Society. Clayton was on the state runnerup football team in 2024.
