Kathy Morris Pays It Forward to Logan County Families

“I fight for my clients. I know what desperation feels like,” said Kathy Morris.Morris, the Community Development Coordinator for Logan County with the Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency, was recently honored as a recipient of KFOR Pay It Forward, sponsored by First Fidelity Bank.

Bench at Liberty Lake Honors the Life of Kyle Wayne Scruggs

Kyle Wayne Scruggs was raised in Logan County, where he became known for his kindness, humor and big heart.When J9 Tavern opened in 2023, Scruggs lived nearby and became a regular. A friendship quickly formed, and he was later hired to work security and handle maintenance at the bar.

Children and Guthrie police officers came together for the annual Shop with a Cop event, continuing a long standing community tradition that spreads holiday cheer and supports families in need.

The Mark Bruning 2025 Firefighter of the Year award has been presented to Woodcrest Fire Department firefighter Cole Nichols. Bruning was recognized by the department as someone who consistently go above and beyond in their service.

DAR Recognizes Lt. Col. Kyle Brede’s Service in Guthrie

Lt. Col. Kyle Brede was honored Dec. 18 by the Samuel King Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, receiving the DAR Community Service Award for his efforts in establishing Guthrie’s Summit View Cemetery as an official Wreaths Across America site.
