Safe Place offers refuge for youth

One in every seven children in America experiences child abuse or neglect, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Programs like Safe Place are an invaluable community resource for those under the age of 18.
Guthrie seniors Brayden Morgan and Tyronne Beatty were named to the 5A-1 first team in coaches voting last week. Guthrie did not land any players on the player of the year awards despite an outstanding 22-5 season. Senior Nathan Bedford was named to the second team and Senior Alex Clark was named to the third team. Senior Jaylen Harper and freshman Kolson Smedley were named honorable mention. City Outlines Details of CIP Tax Extension

The City of Guthrie hosted a public forum this past Wednesday to go over the details of the upcoming vote on extending the Logan County Capital Improvement Project sales tax for an additional 15 years, to support the City’s much-needed upgrades in several key areas of infrastructure.
