Commissioners expect to close on DHS building in the next week

The Logan County Board of Commissioners Friday learned that the county should be able to close next week on the purchase agreement for the Department of Human Services (DHS) building 1414 South Division Street.

County Tax Propositions pass

The three propositions to maintain the quarter cent sales tax in Logan County for roads, jail maintenance, and the volunteer fire departments were all approved on March 5.The first proposition for road repairs passed 5,830 yes votes (82 percent) to 1,283 no votes (18 percent).

Mercy Administrator Bobby Stitt Named to Becker’s Rural CEOs to Know List

Bobby Stitt, administrator for three Mercy hospitals in Oklahoma, was recently named to Becker’s Hospital Review 2024 Rural CEOs to Know list. He is one of only two rural CEOs in the state of Oklahoma and the only rural hospital administrator at Mercy to make this list.

Last week to request absentee ballots for April 2 election

City Council approves mutual aid agreement with Crescent Fire Department

The Guthrie City Council Tuesday approved an automatic mutual aid agreement between the City of Guthrie and the City of Crescent to provide mutual aid assistance during emergencies.

American Legion Post 290 defeats Guthrie AJROTC

American Legion Post 290 defeated Guthrie AJROTC 909.5 to 866.9 in the 2024 National Air Rifle New Shooter League. Their second win in a row. American Legion Post 290 was led by Deion Evans who shot a 259.2. The remaining contributing members were Jackson Niesent, Julia Combs, and Emilynn Mika.
