United Way Aces Funds Drive at Annual Golf Tourney

United Way of Logan County (UWLC) raised over $5,300 at its eighth annual Logan County Open on June 7 at the Guthrie Golf & Country Club. The golf tournament, hosted in partnership with Guthrie Golf & Country Club, Mercy Hospital and Eskridge Chevrolet benefitted UWLC and its 10 Partner Agencies.

Langston gets grant for lake access road

The Town of Langston was recently awarded a $600,000 grant to improve access to Langston Lake.The awarding of the grant was announced last Friday by District 2 Commissioner Charlie Meadows during the Logan County Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Top Ways to Avoid Heat-Related Illness this Summer

Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) data show from 2013 to 2022, there were 141 heat-related deaths in Oklahoma, with more than 85% occurring from June to August.However, heat can be impactful any time of year, especially if the temperature outside is nearing 90°F.

County Commissioner Candidates meet at forum

Three prospective candidates for the Logan County Commissioner’s race met with members of the public Tuesday during a forum at Charter Oak Elementary School.Floyd Coffman, Mike Fergason and Charlie Meadows answered a collection of questions posed by moderators and some sent in by the public.
