Friendship, Competition and a Midnight Evacuation Mark Rodeo Experience

For three young North Dakota rodeo competitors, the National Junior High Finals Rodeo at the Lazy E Arena has been about more than competition. It has also been about friendship, community and an unforgettable overnight weather emergency.

Construction is officially underway on the City of Guthrie’s long-awaited Owen Field Sports Complex Expansion Project, marking a significant investment in youth athletics and community recreation.

Residential Fireworks Discharge Regulations An adult person over the age of 18 may obtain a permit from the City of Guthrie to discharge Class C fireworks only from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 3, 4, and 5 or from 11:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on December 31; from 12:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Rockets' Red Glare ... or Do They?

Just in time for summer celebrations, Oklahoma’s new Rocket’s Red Glare Act has lit a fuse under the state’s fireworks laws.The law, which took effect May 29, legalizes bottle rockets for the first time since 1981 and allows licensed retailers to sell consumer fireworks year-round.

Braylea Lawson, Mulhall-Orlando FFA ReporterThe Mulhall-Orlando FFA Officer Team recently traveled to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, for their annual officer retreat. The retreat provided an opportunity for officers to strengthen their leadership skills, build teamwork, and plan for the upcoming school year.
The Oklahoma Frontier Drugstore Museum, located in the historic Gaffney Building in downtown Guthrie, opened in 1992 and is operated by the Oklahoma Pharmacy Heritage Foundation.
