Mayer, Boller leads Guthrie in X/C State meet in Edmond

The Guthrie Cross Country teams traveled down the road to Edmond Santa Fe on Oct. 30 for the Class 5A state meet. The boys’ team, led by sophomore Mason Mayer’s eighth place finish, would be sixth overall out of 14 teams in the field.

GHS X/C qualifies for state meet

The Guthrie High School Cross Country teams are going to the state meet again this weekend at Edmond Santa Fe after successfully qualifying in Owasso on Oct. 23. The girls will run at 10:15 a.m. and the boys will run at 11 a.m.
The new agreement will keep Gundy on a perpetual five-year contract at his alma mater. Further terms will be released at a later date.

OSU inks head football coach Mike Gundy to new contract

(STILLWATER, Oklahoma, Oct. 22, 2021) — The governing board for Oklahoma State University, the OSU/A&M Board of Regents, has approved a recommendation from OSU President Dr. Kayse Shrum and Athletic Director Chad Weiberg to sign head football coach Mike Gundy to a new contract.
The University of Central Oklahoma ushered in a new era for Broncho athletics Wednesday, announcing its football facility will be renamed Chad Richison Stadium and unveiling extensive stadium improvements funded by the new namesake. Chad Richison, founder and CEO of Paycom, a 1993 graduate of Central, announced an additional $10 million gift for the stadium improvements, bringing his total investment in the university to $25 million and continuing his legacy as the largest donor in UCO history.

Bluejays fly by the Tigers 62-12

The Guthrie Bluejays football team took the long trip to Guymon on Oct.14 and came home with a 62-12 win. Guthrie improves to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the district with two of its more critical games ahead of them. The good news is that both games are at Jelsma Stadium.

Mayer wins OBU XC Challenge

The Guthrie High School cross country teams traveled to Shawnee on Oct. 7 for the OBU XC Challenge. Guthrie sophomore Mason Mayer won the Class 5A/6A boys race in 16:49.74 just ahead of Duncan’s Kaceson Lolar who was two-seconds behind Mayer.
