Coyle Bluejackets improve to 7-1 with two wins before holiday break

The Coyle Bluejackets are headed to the holiday break with a 7-1 record after they won their sixth game in row on Dec. 17 defeating Ripley 52-46. The Bluejackets also traveled to Covington-Douglas on Dec. 16 and won 58-53. As senior Kris Boynton goes so do the Bluejackets.

Bluejays win Woodward Tournament, home opener Friday night

The Guthrie Blue Jays basketball team traveled to Woodward December 9-11 for its annual tournament. The Bluejays would win three games in three days to claim the championship and improve to 3-1 on the season. The Bluejays started out with an easy 77-49 win over Guymon in the first round on Dec. 9.

Bluejays grapplers win opening dual meet, 66-17

The Guthrie High School wrestling team opened its season this past week with a dual meet at home against Del City and a trip to the Blanchard Tournament on December 3-4.

Millwood sweeps Guthrie in basketball opener

The Guthrie basketball teams opened their 2021- 2022 season on Dec. 3 with a road trip to Millwood. The Lady Bluejays lost 43- 34, while the Bluejays lost 60-47. The Lady Bluejays fell behind early and trailed 31- 23 at the half.

Bluejays wrestlers open season tomorrow night at home against Del City

The Guthrie wrestling teams have been working all summer and fall getting ready for the 2021-2022 season. Well, that season officially starts tomorrow night in the high school gym. Del City comes to town for a junior high match at 6 p.m. and the high school to follow around 7 p.m.

Guthrie Varsity basketball teams start Friday night at Millwood

The Guthrie High School basketball teams have been scrimmaging and playing summer ball and now it counts starting Friday night in Oklahoma City against Millwood. The teams play their home opener on Dec. 17 against Tulsa Edison and then are not home until Jan.14 against El Reno.

Cashion headed to Class A semi-finals third straight year

The Cashion Wildcats football team are headed for the Class A State semifinals for the third straight year after disposing of Woodland 41-22 on November 26 in Woodland. The game Friday night will be in Ponca City against Pawhuska, a team they beat 7-6 in last year’s semi-final game.
