Tigers edge Mooreland; unbeaten Gore up next

Mooreland High’s football team may have controlled the clock and compiled more yardage Friday night, but it’s the Crescent Tigers who are moving on to the third round of the Class A state playoffs after rallying for a 19-18 victory in Crescent.
The Logan County 4H Teens took on the Community Service Project to run a food drive for the Hands of Jesus Food Bank. 4H Teens and a few other 4H members dropped off the collected donations. Mulhall-Orlando FFA Goes to Indianapolis

On Wednesday morning, October 26th, five out of six Mulhall-Orlando FFA chapter officers began the long journey to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 95th National FFA Convention and Expo. The National FFA Convention and Expo is a fourday event that takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana every October.
The Guthrie Rotary Club Student of the Week is Nicole Lum. She is the daughter of Jason & Mindy Lum and the granddaughter of Holly and Sam Rice. Nicole is active in Performance Drama, Cheerleading and National Honor Society. After graduation, Nicole would like to be a cheerleader in college and study Nursing. Pictured with Nicole is Rotarian, Katelyn Payne with the YMCA.

Bluejays blank Shawnee; playoffs begin at Elgin

Guthrie High tuned up for the Class 5A football playoffs by posting a 43-0 rout of Shawnee (0-10) in the regularseason final. The Bluejays (8-2) now travel to Elgin (8-2) for the first round of the playoffs at 7 p.m. Friday.

Crescent beats Cashion to win district title

Kade Varner threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Crescent Tigers (8-1) to a 28-21 win against Highway 74 rival Cashion last Thursday, securing the district title. The Tigers will host Dibble (5-5) on Friday night.

Lady Bluejays third at state cross country

Guthrie High’s Lady Bluejays cross country team bounced back from a disappointing regional meet and finished third in the Class 5A state championships on Oct. 29 in Edmond. Guthrie (6-16-18-21-26) finished with 87 points; Piedmont (2-7-8-9-15) won the title with 41 points.
