Bluejays beat Lawton in the mud, 35-6

Guthrie High's football team completed its regular season with a second-place district finish after posting a 35-6 win over Lawton on Friday night. The Bluejays (7-3, 6-1) host Lawton MacArthur (7-3) in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs at 7 p.m. this Friday.

Blevins 6th, Schroder 8th in 5A State cross country

High school cross country season came to an end Saturday at the Class 5A State Meet at Edmond Santa Fe High School, but two Guthrie juniors scored Top 10 finishes in their final runs of the year.

Guthrie cross country teams ready for Class 5A State meet

Guthrie High School’s cross- country teams are headed back to theClass5AStateChampionships for the fifth year in a row. Runners will take the field at Edmond Santa Fe High at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, following the Class 6A groups.

Guthrie-Carl Albert rivalry always a crowd-pleaser

There is no bigger high school football rivalry across Oklahoma over the past 20 years than Guthrie vs. Carl Albert. In an unusual scheduling issue due to district realignment, the Titans visit Jelsma Stadium on Friday night for the second year in a row.

Lady Bluejays softball season ends at state

Guthrie High’s softball season came to an abrupt end last week when the Lady Bluejays lost to district rival Duncan 10-7 at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City in the Class 5A state quarterfinals.

Bluejays soar past shorthanded Jets 72-0

Guthrie High’s football team took advantage of an undermanned 15-member Western Heights Jets team to claim a 72-0 rout last Thursday on the evening before fall break.That victory comes on the heels of last week’s 49-0 romp against El Reno and pushed Guthrie’s record to 5-2 (4-0 in district play).

Bluejays dominate in El Reno shutout

Guthrie’s Bluejays made quick work of the El Reno Indians on Friday night, building a five-touchdown lead at halftime en route to a 49-0 win.Kolton Carlock scored from 15, 1 and 16 yards in the first half.

Softball Set for State

The Guthrie Lay Bluejays are headed back to the state tournament tomorrow with a 10 a.m. game against Duncan.The games are being played at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City this year. Guthrie qualified last week with run rule wins of 16-5 and 11-0 against El Reno.
