Augusta Marie Chappell, 84, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021. She was born on June 30, 1937 to Felix and Florence Bussard.

She married young to Frank Oldenburg and her four children were born from that marriage. The family lived on a farm and she would work from early morning until late at night, but it never stopped her from caring for her family. She strived not only to care for her four children but cared for many foster children and other children that needed love and attention. Our home was always spilling over with friends and relatives that she always shared her generosity and love. As years went by, her children married and added many grandchildren that she loved and supported by attending all the many events that they took part in.

On January 21, 1980, she went to work at Ditch Witch. On December 30, 1980 she received her certificate of High School equivalency and taught herself to type then advanced to a position in the Electronic Publishing Department. She retired December 26, 1998 after 18 years of service.

She married Ira Gallaway Jr. on June 11, 1982 and spent 13 years of happiness before he passed away on January 18, 1995. They loved traveling together with friends and they always had time to spend with their family.

On June 12, 1996, she married Richard Chappell and they have spent the last 25 years loving and caring for each other. They served at Community Church from the day it was established. She loved to teach children about the Jesus she loved. Together they were members of the Oasis and Joyful Singers where they visited nursing homes to sing and share God's love. She helped coordinate those visits along with a monthly luncheon for the Oasis members. She and Richard served at Lunch on Noble and took food to the elementary schools for children in need. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends, taking delicious treats to friends celebrating special occasions or for those who were sick or grieving the loss of someone special. She visited the sick and delivered communion to those who could not attend church. They loved traveling, going to Bluegrass Festivals, attending shows at Bryon Berline's Fiddle Shop, but most of all they enjoyed weekly dinner and card games with their friends.

She is survived by her husband Richard; her son, Scotty Oldenburg of Kingfisher; and daughters, Judy Hughes and husband, Jeff of Oklahoma City; and Pam Albright of Edmond. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katy Gooch and Abby Gooch of Edmond, Matt Hughes of Oklahoma City, Kara Grace of Oklahoma City, Jodi Jones of Sapulpa, Laci Lane of Elk City, Brandon & Braxton Oldenburg of Mulhall, Jeff Oldenburg, Jason Oldenburg and Joline Oldenburg, all of Mulhall along with her 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Florence Bussard; husband, Ira Gallaway; son, Jerry Oldenburg; sisters, Hazel and Paul Rothermel, Mary Edna and Laverne Lowrie, Cleo and John Price; brothers, Gene and Glenda Bussard, Arthur and Gladys Bussard, Clyde and Flossie Bussard and Marvin and Bernice Bussard.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Community Church with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. A private family burial will be  held. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st St., Guthrie, OK 73044.
