Linda Sue Betchan

Linda Sue Betchan was born on January 29, 1942, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Issac Johnson and Ione (Youngblood) Johnson. She passed away on August 13, 2026, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 84.

Linda was a former owner of the Hard Times Club in Guthrie. She enjoyed the familiar faces, conversations, and friendships made over the years.

Away from work, Linda was happiest outdoors. She loved fishing and found great enjoyment in spending time near the water. She also had a true gift for gardening and was known for having an exceptionally green thumb. Whether tending flowers, vegetables, or anything else she could coax from the soil, Linda took great pride in watching things grow.

Linda is survived by her children, Jewell Waddell and husband Tony and Laveta Armstrong and husband Ronald; stepchildren, Clinton Betchan and wife Donna and Coy Betchan and wife Kim; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous great-greatgrandchildren; as well as other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bill” Betchan, her parents, Issac and Ione Johnson, her brother, Van Johnson, and her grandmother Leota Youngblood.

Linda will be remembered for her hardworking nature, the many friendships she made throughout her life, and the simple things that brought her happiness: a good day of fishing, time spent in the garden, and being surrounded by the people she loved.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hayes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
