We’re one month into Fiscal Year 2027. Sales Tax Receipts for the month: $42,149.75. Use Tax Receipts: $15,605.77. General Government has received 8% of expected revenues and spent 9.4% of budgeted expenses. Public Works received 10.6% of expected revenues and spent 7.1% of budgeted expenses.
Projects:
We had a pre-construction meeting with All Roads Paving regarding the E. Van Buren paving project. Work is scheduled to begin on September 15th and scheduled to be completed by December 15th . The ACOG REAP grantfunded project will widen and resurface E. Van Buren from Hwy 74 to the Community Center. The City will be reaching out to residents along the south side of E. Van Buren to coordinate moving their mailboxes several feet south to accommodate the wider roadway alignment.
The Crescent Creek Connection project includes approximately 108 acres of residential development. Homes By Taber plans to construct 458 homes within the development and anticipates the first homes could be completed in a little over two years. The City is working with Brent Kisling of Retail Attractions to identify a commercial developer for the approximately 20 acres designated for commercial development. The City has also reserved 23 acres for public use, with plans including walking and biking trails and a pub- lic fishing pond.
The City is preparing an application for OWRB REAP grant funding to support a water line project along Highway 74 from the intersection at W. Ryland, extending approximately one-half mile south. The project will provide a connection point for the Crescent Creek Connection development project and will improve service to residents south of City limits.
Other grant opportunities being considered this year include an ACOG REAP grant; the TSET (Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust) Healthy Incentive Grant and Built Environment Grant; the CDBG ( Community Development Block Grant) Community Revitalization Program; CDBG Water and Wastewater Engineering and Construction programs; and the CDBG Capital Improvement Planning (CIP) Grant administered through ACOG (Association of Central Oklahoma Governments).
CDBG programs are federally funded and include additional compliance requirements, including specialized accounting and auditing, Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements, environmental review, and other administrative requirements. Some programs may also require matching funds to be competitive. The City will evaluate each opportunity based on the anticipated grant benefit compared with the net cost to the City, including any additional costs associated with federal compliance requirements.
